{"id":35030,"date":"2022-07-19T11:31:26","date_gmt":"2022-07-19T15:31:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ourpublicservice.org\/?p=35030"},"modified":"2024-01-08T11:34:19","modified_gmt":"2024-01-08T16:34:19","slug":"these-federal-agencies-are-getting-employee-engagement-and-satisfaction-right","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ourpublicservice.org\/blog\/these-federal-agencies-are-getting-employee-engagement-and-satisfaction-right\/","title":{"rendered":"These federal agencies are getting employee engagement and satisfaction right"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On Wednesday, July 13, the Partnership for Public Service and Boston Consulting Group released the 2021 <a href=\"https:\/\/bestplacestowork.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Best Places to Work in the Federal Government<\/a>\u00ae rankings, the most comprehensive assessment of how federal employees view their jobs and workplaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2021 Best Places to Work government-wide employee engagement and satisfaction score decreased 4.5 points from 2020 to 2021, falling to 64.5 out of 100. Across all levels of leadership, employees gave the highest marks to their supervisors with a score of 79.8. Agency leaders also received positive feedback for addressing employee well-being during the pandemic, resulting in a score of 85.2 out of 100.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As federal agencies place greater emphasis on recruiting a younger generation of employees, workers under the age of 30 scored high in most categories except for pay satisfaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several federal agencies also improved their standing in the rankings, which can offer a roadmap for federal leaders that shows what\u2019s working.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/bestplacestowork.org\/rankings\/detail\/?c=IB01\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">U.S. Agency for Global Media<\/a> improved by more than 20 points, the largest increase among agency subcomponents, while the <a href=\"https:\/\/bestplacestowork.org\/rankings\/detail\/?c=AK00\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">National Endowment for the Humanities<\/a> was the most improved small agency, jumping from 25th to second place.
