{"id":20326,"date":"2020-09-10T08:30:33","date_gmt":"2020-09-10T12:30:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/opsweb.wpengine.com\/?p=20326"},"modified":"2020-11-30T13:15:07","modified_gmt":"2020-11-30T18:15:07","slug":"bringing-the-partnership-to-the-west-coast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ourpublicservice.org\/blog\/bringing-the-partnership-to-the-west-coast\/","title":{"rendered":"Bringing the Partnership to the West Coast"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Since 2001, the Partnership for Public Service has transformed&nbsp;the way government works by delivering leadership development programs, increasing employee engagement and helping&nbsp;agencies&nbsp;recruit top talent into&nbsp;the&nbsp;federal&nbsp;workforce.&nbsp;But with&nbsp;85% of federal employees based outside of the Washington, D.C., area,&nbsp;we needed&nbsp;to expand&nbsp;our&nbsp;reach.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To that end,&nbsp;we are pleased to announce Partnership West, an extension of the Partnership&#8217;s operations to the West Coast, starting in&nbsp;California\u2014 home to more than 150,000 civil servants&nbsp;and&nbsp;the largest regional population of federal workers outside&nbsp;our&nbsp;nation\u2019s capital.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As&nbsp;California&nbsp;grapples with pressing concerns&nbsp;\u2013&nbsp;from the COVID-19 pandemic to&nbsp;massive&nbsp;wildfires across the state&nbsp;\u2013&nbsp;it continues to need&nbsp;a&nbsp;rich pool of mission-oriented federal employees&nbsp;skilled in&nbsp;supporting&nbsp;both&nbsp;state and local governments&nbsp;and&nbsp;building new&nbsp;cross-sector networks. Partnership West&nbsp;will&nbsp;use&nbsp;the Partnership\u2019s&nbsp;expertise to&nbsp;help foster&nbsp;collaborative federal&nbsp;offices&nbsp;in California.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We aim to support&nbsp;these&nbsp;agency field offices&nbsp;through research, cross-agency initiatives and customized programming&nbsp;in&nbsp;three&nbsp;main&nbsp;areas:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Federal talent pipelines. <\/li><li>Agency networks, collaboration and innovation.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Leadership development.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>We are grateful for our existing partners and are excited to work across the public, private and nonprofit sectors to drive meaningful change in California. This work is only the beginning of Partnership West.
